How our AutoCAD training works
- 1. Free demo. Attend one live session and see the teaching style.
- 2. Counselling. You get the outline, fees and batch timings.
- 3. Trainer match. We pair you with a trainer for your discipline.
- 4. Live classes. Draw along, ask doubts, get assignments.
- 5. Projects. Finish drawings that go into your portfolio.
- 6. Certificate. Receive your completion certificate.
Drawings you will make
- A residential floor plan with doors, windows and dimensions
- Building elevation and section from the same plan
- A machine part with orthographic views and sections
- A lighting and power layout on an architectural base
- A furniture and ceiling layout for an interior
- A plotted A3 sheet with title block and viewports
What decides the AutoCAD course fee?
Fees differ because courses differ. The main factors are the total teaching hours, whether the batch is shared or one-to-one, the discipline track, and whether you want 3D or advanced automation. Be careful with very low fees that do not mention hours, trainer experience or who answers your doubts. Ask for the outline in writing and attend the demo first. Details are on the course fees page.
Career after the course
Typical entry roles are CAD draftsman, CAD technician and design assistant in construction, manufacturing and consultancy firms. Check live openings on the National Career Service portal and read our career guide. Want to understand the software first? Start with What is AutoCAD?.
Course structure: how the weeks usually flow
Batch plans differ, but the sequence stays the same. The counsellor shares the exact timetable for your batch after the demo.
| Stage | What you do | What you can show |
|---|---|---|
| Foundations | Units, snaps, drawing and editing | A room drawn with exact sizes |
| Organising | Layers, blocks, hatching | A layered plan with door blocks |
| Annotation | Text and dimension styles | A dimensioned plan |
| Output | Layouts, viewports, plotting | A PDF at 1:50 |
| Collaboration and 3D | Xrefs, file formats, basic solids | A referenced drawing and a simple 3D model |
| Project | A drawing set in your discipline | A portfolio PDF |
Pitfalls the trainers watch for
- Drawing by eye instead of typing values
- Working on layer 0 for everything
- Dimension styles left at default
- Scaling a drawing to fit the page
- Skipping the plot check
Each of these is easy to fix early and painful to fix late, which is why live feedback matters.
Choosing your next step after this course
After the core course you can specialise or add a second tool. Look at the advanced course for blocks, sheet sets and automation, the 3D course, or tools such as Revit, SolidWorks and Civil 3D. The CAD courses page compares them.

AutoCAD course FAQs
What are the AutoCAD course details?
It is a live, trainer-led course that takes you from the AutoCAD screen to dimensioned, plotted drawings and basic 3D models. You finish with project drawings in the discipline you choose, and a certificate of completion.
What is the AutoCAD course fee?
The fee depends on your track, the number of hours and the batch type. The counsellor shares the exact fee with the course outline when you book your free demo. We do not publish a number that may not match your batch.
How long is the AutoCAD course?
Duration depends on your starting level and track. A beginner with regular practice needs longer than a working draftsman who only wants advanced topics. The counsellor will give you the timeline for your batch.
Can I join with no engineering background?
Yes. Interior designers, diploma holders, ITI students and career-switchers join every batch. You need basic computer skills and willingness to practise.
Which version of AutoCAD should I use?
Any recent full AutoCAD release works for the course. AutoCAD LT covers the 2D parts, but not 3D modelling. Your trainer will tell you what to install before the first class.
How do I get AutoCAD on my laptop?
Use the official Autodesk website. Students and educators can usually apply for a free educational licence, and a free trial is available for everyone else. We do not support pirated software.
Are doubts solved during class?
Yes. Classes are live, so you can interrupt and ask. Many learners also share their practice drawings with the trainer for feedback.
Will I get a certificate?
You get a certificate of completion from us. For the official Autodesk Certified User exam, we guide you on preparation and registration.
Is there a demo before I pay?
Yes. You can attend a free demo class, meet a trainer and then decide.
Do you promise a job?
No. We help with portfolio drawings, resume and interview practice. Getting hired depends on your skill and the market.
