Online AutoCAD Course with Certificate
Our AutoCAD online course is taught live, not through pre-recorded videos, so a trainer can see your screen, spot a wrong habit and fix it while you draw. Book a free demo class and a counsellor will share the complete outline, fees and batch timings.

Quick answer
An online AutoCAD course teaches drafting through live video sessions on your own laptop. You draw along with the trainer, submit practice drawings for feedback, and receive a certificate of completion at the end. All you need is a laptop and a stable internet connection.

About the Online AutoCAD Course
An online AutoCAD course sounds simple, but the format decides how much you actually learn. In a live class the trainer shares a screen, you share yours, and every command is explained while you type it. That is very different from watching a recording, where you can nod along for an hour and still not know how to start a drawing on your own.
Our online batches are built around drawing, not lectures. Each session has a short explanation, a guided exercise and an independent task, and each week ends with an assignment that the trainer reviews. Because everyone practises on their own laptop, you are also learning on the machine and the version of AutoCAD you will use at work.
You can join from any city. The course follows the same sequence as a classroom course: accurate drawing, editing, layers and blocks, annotation, plotting and a discipline project. The difference is that you save the commute and can revise from recordings if you miss a class.
Who should take the Online AutoCAD Course?
Students outside big cities
You get the same trainers as learners in a metro, without travel.
Working professionals
Choose evening or weekend batches and revise from recordings when work overruns.
Self-learners stuck on YouTube
Videos show commands. A live trainer shows why your drawing is wrong.
What you will be able to do
- Set up AutoCAD, units, layers and a template without help
- Draw and edit with shortcuts instead of hunting through menus
- Dimension drawings in a proper style
- Set up layouts and plot to scale as PDF
- Share DWG and PDF files that open correctly on other computers
- Study from recordings and assignments without falling behind
Your first month. In the first month you learn the screen, units and drawing and editing commands, and finish a small plan and a bracket. You plot them to PDF and the trainer reviews both.
A worked example from class
In class three you draw a 4000 x 3000 mm room together. The trainer asks you to share your screen, notices you have drawn walls on layer 0 and shows you how to move them to a WALL layer in two clicks. You then offset the outline by 230 mm, trim a door opening, and the trainer reviews the result before the next class. That small loop of draw, show, correct is what the live format is for.
What you need to practise
- A laptop or desktop that meets Autodesk's system requirements
- AutoCAD installed through a trial, education access or subscription
- A mouse with a scroll wheel
- A stable internet connection and a headset
- A quiet hour a day for practice
How progress is assessed
Each week ends with an assignment you submit as a PDF and a DWG. The trainer marks accuracy, layers, dimensions and plotting, and tells you what to redraw. The final project is a dimensioned plan or part, plotted to scale.

Module by module: what you actually do
Setup and basics
In the first sessions you install AutoCAD from the official Autodesk route, set millimetre units and learn how snaps, polar tracking and dynamic input work. The exercise is a room drawn with typed lengths, so you see why exact input beats clicking by eye.
Drawing management
You create layers for walls, doors, dimensions and text, build your first blocks and learn to hatch. The trainer opens your DWG on screen and shows what a clean layer structure looks like compared with a messy one.
Annotation
Text styles and dimension styles are taught as settings you define once and reuse. You dimension the room plan the way a contractor would read it and fix common mistakes such as overlapping dimensions.
Layouts and plotting
You set up an A3 layout, add a viewport at 1:50, lock it and plot to PDF. You then measure a dimension on the PDF to confirm the scale, a check that catches most plotting errors.
Working remotely
Because you share files with the trainer online, you learn how to name versions, save in a compatible DWG version and send a PDF with the DWG, habits that matter in any remote or office job.
Project and review
The final project is a dimensioned plan or part, plotted and presented as a PDF. The trainer reviews it live, and you correct the points raised before it goes into your portfolio.
How the training works
- 1. Book a free demo class
- 2. Receive the course outline, fees and timings
- 3. Get matched with a suitable trainer
- 4. Attend live classes and draw along
- 5. Finish project drawings with feedback
- 6. Receive your completion certificate
Projects you will work on
- A plotted floor plan on an A3 sheet
- A dimensioned mechanical part
- A block library you build and reuse
Online live class vs recorded course vs classroom
| Factor | Live online | Recorded | Classroom |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doubts | Asked on the spot | Comment section | Asked on the spot |
| Feedback on your drawing | Yes | Rarely | Yes |
| Travel | None | None | Daily |
| Schedule | Fixed batch | Any time | Fixed batch |
Mistakes we fix early
| Common mistake | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| Joining from a phone or a weak laptop | Check AutoCAD requirements before the demo and use a mouse |
| Watching without drawing | Keep AutoCAD open and draw along during every session |
| Skipping assignments because the class is online | Submit each assignment before the next class |
| Not asking doubts | Unmute and ask; the trainer can see your screen and fix it live |
Who this is not for. If you cannot give at least a few hours a week for practice, or you have no access to a computer, an online course will not work well for you yet.
How this is used in real work
Remote and hybrid work is common in drafting. Many firms send drawings to freelancers or satellite offices, and a draftsman who can share clean DWG and PDF files, follow naming rules and respond to markups quickly is easier to work with. The online format trains these habits from day one.
The skills are identical to classroom learning: layers, blocks, dimensions, layouts and plotting are the same everywhere. What you add is comfort with screen sharing, file transfer and written communication, which employers increasingly expect.
Careers and next steps
An online certificate helps, but what employers actually check is your drawing. Keep your finished projects as PDFs and be ready to explain your layer structure and dimensioning choices in an interview.
After the course you can apply for trainee draftsman and CAD technician roles, or continue to a discipline course. Keep your project PDFs together in a portfolio and mention that you trained in a live online format; it shows you can learn independently.
If you plan to work remotely or freelance, practise delivering files to a client: a PDF for viewing, a DWG in an older version for compatibility and a short note on what changed.

Fees depend on the number of hours, batch type and track, so the counsellor shares the exact amount with your outline after the demo. See the fees guide to understand what changes the price.
Online AutoCAD Course FAQs
Is the online AutoCAD course really live?
Yes. Sessions are live with a trainer, and recordings are for revision, not a replacement.
What do I need for the online course?
A laptop that meets the AutoCAD system requirements, a mouse, and a stable internet connection.
Can I get a certificate from an online AutoCAD course?
You receive our certificate of completion. The Autodesk Certified User exam is separate and we guide you on preparing.
Which AutoCAD version do I install?
A recent full AutoCAD release from Autodesk. Your trainer confirms before class one.
What if I miss a live class?
Watch the recording and complete the assignment, then ask your doubts in the next session.
Can I try before joining?
Yes, book the free demo class.
Do I need a camera on during class?
It helps the trainer but is not mandatory. What matters is that you share your screen when asked, so the trainer can see your drawing.
How are doubts solved between classes?
You can send questions and screenshots through the batch group, and the trainer replies. Complex doubts are taken up at the start of the next session.
Will I get recordings?
Yes, recordings are meant for revision. Ask the counsellor about how long they remain available.
What if my internet is unstable?
Join with a wired or stronger connection if possible. If you drop out, rejoin or watch the recording and send the assignment before the next class.
